The East Project is not a program—it’s a purpose.
A purpose to heal, restore, and honor. A purpose to uplift the living by dignifying the dead. A purpose to show what a united community can accomplish when it refuses to be forgotten.
Edna’s Eight – The Legacy of a Mother’s Strength
Especially our mother, Edna McGee—a woman of grace, grit, and unshakable faith.
As a single mother in the 1960s and 70s, she raised seven children on the Eastside of Wichita Falls. Life was tough. Resources were limited. But her strength was unmatched. She sacrificed. She endured. And she never gave up on us.
We proudly call ourselves “Edna’s Eight.”
Her children. Her legacy. Her mission fulfilled.
To honor her strength and the values she instilled in us, we created an acronym that represents our journey and commitment to carry her vision forward:
T.E.M.A. - Team Edna – Mission Accomplished
Through TEMA, we strive to live lives of purpose, service, and uplift—giving back to the community that shaped us and continuing the work our mother began with love and perseverance.
Because of Edna, we are strong.
Because of Edna, we serve.
Because of Edna, the mission lives on.
