One Block at a Time was founded by three sisters who share a deep love for North Texas — and a belief that lasting change happens when neighbors empower neighbors.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to educate, inspire, and equip our community to take radical responsibility for creating a cleaner, stronger, more vibrant place to live.

We believe in a hand up, not a handout. Every one-time gift we provide is tied to a clear plan of action — a commitment from recipients to move forward, repair what’s broken, and build a better future.

Just imagine it: a community where households are empowered to not only fix what’s gone wrong, but also to thrive. Where neighbors join hands across their own blocks to share skills, tools, and encouragement. That’s the North Texas we’re building — one block at a time.

What We Do:

  • Provide small grants for food necessities and utility bills to keep families stable in times of need.

  • Offer a community book library to inspire learning, literacy, and connection.

  • Support lawn, garden, and food preservation initiatives that promote health and self-reliance.

  • Host education seminars and sustainability workshops to strengthen both urban and rural living.

  • Create youth programs that inspire the next generation of community leaders.

Every project we fund is an investment in action — in people willing to roll up their sleeves and be part of the solution. Because when we work together, block by block, we don’t just vitalize neighborhoods… we transform lives
