P.E.T.S. Clinic

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission:

Provide high-quality, low-cost spays and neuters, veterinary services, and community-focused programs in a kind, nonjudgmental environment to ensure every pet has access to and can remain in a loving home.

Why are Low Price Veterinary Service Options Important?

Financial constraints are the #1 barrier to veterinary care. Studies have shown that a family of four with a $50,000 annual budget will face barriers to veterinary care for their pets. Individuals and families earning less are even more likely to be unable to offer veterinary care for their pets due to financial constraints. Over 70% of families own pets. 50,000,000 dogs and cats in the US do not have access to even basic vet care. Access to Care is a national movement finding ways to ensure pet owners can provide veterinary care for their beloved companion animals.

How Do Your Donations Help Dogs and Cats in the Texoma Area?

P.E.T.S. Clinic does not receive state or federal funding, donations play an essential role in our continued operation. Your donations allow our clinic to offer lower prices for preventatives, assistance when clients fundraise for large medical expenses, and of course, financial assistance for spay and neuter surgeries. Spays and neuters, PETS Underdog Express, client fundraising, and lower prices keep companion animals in the homes that love them. Overpopulation and financial barriers to veterinary care oftentimes result in animals being turned over to rescues and shelters. In these cases, our shelters and rescues do not have the resources to care for the animal. The consequence is euthanasia for the animal. In the rare case the animal can be cared for, this is yet another dog or cat waiting for a home along with hundreds of healthy animals.

Where Do the Donations Go? Do They Really Help?

91 spays and neuters. That was the total of spays and neuters performed by a volunteer team in 2006. PETS has now provided over 90,000 spays and neuters. Because of you, PETS Clinic scheduled an incredible 19,545 appointments last year. Over 5,100 of these were spays and neuters provided at $10 or less.

Please Donate to PETS Clinic for Texoma Gives.

Your donations during Texoma Gives will allow us to surpass all previous numbers for spay and neuter surgeries, preventative appointments, and veterinary visits. Together, we can make an indelible mark on the lives of pets and their families in our area.

Who We Are

Show our community the importance of having services in place for our local dogs and cats this Texoma Gives 2020!

Your donation is both saving and improving the lives of dogs and cats in our community. You help provide the spay and neuter surgeries that are lowering our overpopulation rates, you help transport dogs who are in danger of being put down at area shelters due to overcrowding, you help build fences for dogs living on chains, and you are standing right beside us developing relationships with pet owners who love their pets like family but are unaware of all the ways they can improve the lives of their dogs and cats.

Pet overpopulation kills millions of dogs and cats in America every year and thousands in our local area. The P.E.T.S. mission is to provide high-quality, low-cost spays and neuters, preventative services, and community-focused programs in a kind, nonjudgmental environment to ensure every pet has access to and can remain in a responsible, loving home.

P.E.T.S. formed in April 2007 to combat the overpopulation of unwanted pets in Wichita Falls, TX, and surrounding communities. From 10 surgeries on July 11th, 2007 to a total of 50,000 spay and neuter surgeries as of March 2018, because of your support, our community is served by an average of 200 surgeries and 240 preventative services for dogs and cats per week.

Spay and neuter surgeries are available to everyone for $55, and pet owners with proof of need are eligible to get services for $10 or even free. In addition to providing high quality, low cost spay and neuter surgeries and preventative services such as annual vaccinations including rabies, heartworm testing, heartworm preventative, and free nail trims, your donations provide many community programs.

You are supporting P.E.T.S. Underdog Express, pulling healthy dogs in danger of being put down due to overcrowding, providing vetting, a foster family, and transport to an adoption facility in New York, where all of our North Texas dogs are adopted within an average of 9 days.

Your donation also supports the P.E.T.S. Chain Off program which builds fences for dogs living on chains. Unsupervised tethering is illegal in Wichita Falls. Our Chain Off program builds fences to not only free dogs from tethers but also ensure they can stay with their family and do not end up in the system, hoping for an adoption.

You are also supporting programs like P.E.T.S. Outreach which establishes relationships with local pet owners who may not be aware of the services we have available for their pets. P.E.T...
