Friends of the WF Public Library

The Friends of the Library is now 30 years old and raising funds to pay off a $100,000 interest-free mortgage so the Friends Book Warehouse can become a permanent educational resource in Wichita Falls.  With well over 140,000 books on hand plus CDs, DVDs, magazines, audio and video cassettes.  Material is available for everyone who is seeking knowledge, entertainment or educational material for their children (which is free).  All people working to make this happen are VOLUNTEERS.  There is NO PAID STAFF.  All money raised goes to pay operating expenses and the mortgage.  Your donation, no matter how small, will make a major difference when we apply for grants to complete payment of the mortgage.  If you have not visited the Book Warehouse, please come by and tour our facility.  We're open Mon-Sat 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  We have just two years to make this a permanent facility.

Who We Are

The Friends of the Wichita Falls Public Library Organization was created as a tax-exempt organization in 1991 to promote and support the creation of a new and larger public library. In 2010, the Friends of the Library became a tax-exempt public charity.
The Friends continues to promote and support the library and its pro-grams for youth. We also do all we can to promote literacy in other ways. We maintain 35 Little Free Libraries around town, & provide books to numerous literacy initiatives including our own Dr. Seuss Birthday Party,
