Wichita Mountains Prevention Network (WMPN) is a dynamic organization that has grown and evolved since 1989 to meet the needs of communities in southwestern Oklahoma. As pioneers in prevention technology and community development, we are champions of evidence-based proactive programming developed with community partners. The mission of the Wichita Mountains Prevention Network is to build a community where our citizens can lead healthy, productive, and happy lives. We do so by reducing risk factors and promoting protective factors in our community, our schools, our families, and our youth.

WMPN hosts a one-day conference for 6th and 9th graders in Jefferson County each fall. This year will be our fourth year to host the conference. The mission of TeenCon is “to empower Jefferson County’s 6th and 9th graders with the tools they need to make smart choices that protect their mental, behavioral and physical health.” We receive operating funds from ODMHSAS that are limited as how they can be spent.  Our budget for TeenCon includes Keynote Speaker, facilities, lunch, snacks, T-shirts, backpacks, notebooks and gifts for breakout speakers, items that are not allowed to be covered with our grand funds. Any donations made through Texoma Gives will be used to fund TeenCon.
