Texas Community Counseling

A nonprofit organization

Imagine being in a rural Texas community with limited resources, carrying the weight of trauma, and knowing the help you need feels financially out of reach. At Texas Community Counseling (TCC), we set out to change that reality. Since opening our doors in 2018, we’ve provided free or low-cost counseling to hundreds of individuals and families affected by crime, trauma, and hardship—because healing should never be a luxury.

Currently, TCC offers licensed mental health services to victims of crime and their non-offending family members in Jack, Young, and Montague Counties. We serve men, women, and children as young as four, offering individual, couples, and family counseling, along with targeted support groups. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed care and offer specialized approaches like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and equine-assisted therapy. We also run domestic violence support classes designed to help individuals recover from the impact of abuse and rebuild their lives.

All of our victim-related services are provided at no cost, ensuring that no one is denied access to professional care due to financial hardship.

Why What We Do Matters

  • 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will experience sexual abuse before the age of 18
  • 80% of these incidents happen in the child’s own home
  • 1 in 3 victims never tell anyone
  • 1 in 7 American children face neglect or abuse during their childhood
  • 80% of child abuse deaths involve children under age 3
  • Every day, five children in the U.S. die due to abuse or neglect
  • 15 million children in the U.S. will witness domestic violence this year
  • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men experience domestic violence

Victimization cuts across every line—gender, race, age, income, orientation, and religion. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by crime. Their stories matter, and so does our commitment to walk alongside them.

Who We Are

Texas Community Counseling is a Christian-based nonprofit rooted in the belief that hope and healing belong to everyone. Through licensed professional counselors and compassionate care, we provide free services to victims of crime and their families, removing financial and geographic barriers to mental health support in rural Texas.

In addition to counseling, we invest in community education and prevention, equipping our neighbors to recognize abuse and respond with wisdom and empathy. Together, we’re not just healing individuals—we’re helping restore entire communities.
