Home for Freedom exists to support and honor our veterans, both living and those who gave their lives.  We believe freedom is not free, and because of their sacrifice, our men and women in the Armed forces should be taken care of.  We are an organization created for our veterans, and run by people whose hearts are extremely grateful for their sacrifice.  We are members of the Wichita Falls community, volunteering our time for this important service.  We do not receive a paycheck for our work at Home for Freedom.   Every dollar you donate goes towards our service for our veterans.  We are your neighbors, friends, moms, dads, sons, and daughters, all with a passion for Home for Freedom's mission.  That mission is to restore what is lost for veterans and their loved ones, however we can.

Home for Freedom wants to make a difference, and we believe we can.  Men and women of our American Armed Forces, you are not forgotten.  We will not forget your sacrifice, nor will will allow others to forget.  Freedom isn't free.  It has been, and continues to be fought for by our veterans, whose strength and honor is something to be respected, and who are worthy of a life of dignity.

COUNTY CEMETERY PROJECT

UPDATE !

The Brick (85,000) has been donated by Triangle Brick and the stones have been donated.   Wilson's Contracting will be working with us to oversee this project.   The county is making plans for a new entrance off the Henry Grace Freeway.   We need to raise funds for the metal gates, and electrical supplies.

At Home for Freedom, we believe in respecting our beloved veterans whose lives have been lost.  We can honor those vets by taking great are of their gravesites.  A simple act of generosity like this, can mean the world to the loved ones left behind. We want to restore the County Cemetery where many homeless veterans are laid to rest and give them the dignity they deserve.  We have been approved (but not funded) by the county commissioners to build a new entrance gate and fencing for the cemetery, to help provide respect and appreciation for those military veterans interred there.   The county commissioners are enthusiastic and supportive of our plans for updating the cemetery.   Landscaping and a mausoleum for veterans are in future plans.   Did you know a Civil War Veteran is buried there?

TINY HOMES PROJECT

EXCITING NEWS UPDATE !

We have 1 of the 2 tiny homes shell installed on our property.  Work is in progress to finish the inside.  Labor has been donated for electrical & plumbing work, but supplies need to be bought.  Flooring has been donated by Breegle Flooring.  Home Depot donated some insulation.  City Hope Church has been donating time and labor to keep up the grounds.   Another group is donating quilts for the beds.  We will be creating a registry for donating furnishings and equipment to make this tiny home "move in ready".

The city has donated a property to Home for Freedom, and plans have been approved to build two "tiny homes" on that property.  The homes will be handicapped accessible inside and out, and completely furnished.  We have some sponsors who want to help with finishing the inside of the homes and volunteers to help with the work also.  We need to raise $20,000 to purchase each home.  That includes installing it, and being ready to finish the inside.   The property is being maintained, cleared and a fence installed.  Two veterans will be provided a home for as long as they need.   We hope this is just a start.
