Texas Master Naturalist Rolling Plains Chapter is one of 49 chapters in a statewide program whose mission is to develop a corps of well informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within our 10 county area. Some of our projects include:
-Water testing around the city, as well as several other places around our area,
-Horned lizard surveys,
-Quail surveys,
-Bat monitoring, and
-Monarch butterfly tagging.
We also volunteer at River Bend Nature Center, Wild Bird Rescue, Whiteside Museum of Natural History, Lake Arrowhead State Park, Copper Breaks State Parks, as well as many area schools and organizations.
