Fishy’s Friends Rescue – Organization Profile

Fishy’s Friends Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Comanche County, Oklahoma, dedicated to saving homeless pets while building long-term solutions to end the cycle of neglect and abandonment. We rescue abandoned dogs and cats, provide medical care and safe foster placement, and match them with loving homes. Every animal we adopt out is fully vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped—but our mission goes far beyond adoptions.

We are tackling the crisis at its root through innovative community programs. These include discounted microchip clinics for underserved pet owners, a pioneering network of eight 24/7 public pet microchip scanning stations, and the integration of live facial recognition and reporting tools that reunite lost pets with their families faster than ever before. We’ve also built rescue resource guides that empower fosters, adopters, and neighbors with the knowledge to keep animals safe and cared for.

Looking ahead, Fishy’s Friends Rescue is expanding into multi-program social impact initiatives that address prevention and pet retention head-on. We are actively pursuing funding to launch free spay/neuter and vaccine clinics, ensuring families never have to choose between cost and care. We are also developing a fence repair program for low-income pet families, helping to keep pets safely in their homes and out of the shelter system.

Founded by Athena “Fishy’s Mom”, Fishy’s Friends Rescue has grown from a grassroots passion into a trusted community anchor. With the help of donors, fosters, and volunteers, we are building a future where every pet has safety, care, and the chance to be loved.
